Schools' £2,000 for green schemes

Pupils at two Channel Island primary schools have won £2,000 to spend on environmental projects.

St Martin's in Guernsey and Grouville in Jersey were joint winners of the Wild Islands competition.

It was organised to coincide with a TV series on Channel Island wildlife which was broadcast earlier this year.

St Martin's will spend the prize money on introducing a new habitat in the school grounds such as a meadow or an area of woodland.
