Investigation into post box fire

An investigation is under way after mail was damaged in a post box fire in St Sampson.

Guernsey Post said a small amount of mail was in the post box outside the Mariner's pub on the Bridge.

However, the company said it would be able to trace all those whose mail was damaged in the fire which happened on Monday evening.

A discarded cigarette is thought to have caused a similar fire at another post box in St Sampson last November.
