Islands' seabirds under scrutiny

Seabird nests in the Bailiwick will be monitored over the next two years in response to falling numbers.

The decline in numbers of puffins and other seabirds has been causing concern throughout the British Isles.

La Societe Guernesiase said the drop in the numbers of shags, puffins and other seabirds locally had prompted them to take action.

Parts of the Bailiwick are protected because they are home to seabird colonies of global significance.
