Meeting to discuss building plans

A meeting is to be held in Guernsey later to discuss the construction of a new parish building in St Peter Port.

Plans to update the constables office have sparked concern from locals who claim the £2m project is too expensive in the current economic climate.

However parish constables say the alternative of just refurbishing the present building is not acceptable.

The public meeting to discuss the plans will be held at the Beau Sejour theatre at 1930 BST.
