Nominees sought for jurat posts

Nominees are being sought to stand as lay members of the Royal Court in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Four new jurat posts are being created in the Bailiwick, raising the number from 12 to 16, following changes made to the Royal Court law last year.

The jurat judge fact rather than law in the Royal Court and sit with the presiding Bailiff or deputy. They have to retire when they turn 75.

Nominations need to be submitted in writing to the Bailiff by 5 June.

The first election for one of the new posts will take place on 24 June.
