Hospital forced to shut ward beds

Ten patient beds at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Guernsey are to close on Monday.

A section of the hospital's Giffard Ward could now be out of use until September.

The decision was taken because of a shortage of staff after the resignation of two senior nurses.

Health and Social Services Minister Hunter Adam said steps would have to be taken to reduce any disruption as a result of the shortages.
