Minimum wage moves a step closer

Guernsey has moved a step closer to getting a minimum wage, with the States being asked to approve the necessary laws later this month.

A figure has not been set yet, but the laws being debated this month lay out the details of who it will apply to and factors on deciding the rate.

There are concerns a minimum wage could hit the horticultural industry.

But Commerce and Employment said at the start of the year introducing a minimum wage was one of its top priorities.
