Alderney's new members sworn in

Alderney States' new members will be officially sworn in during a ceremony later.

They are Peter Allen, Boyd Kelly, Geoffrey Sargent, Bill Walden and John Beaman.

The five candidates were chosen for a new four-year term of office at last month's election. Voter turnout was 65.6%.

Alderney's government consists of a president and 10 States members, all of whom are unpaid.

Elections are held for half the seats every other year. The president's term of office is four years.
