Woolworths to shut on 30 December

Woolworths went into administration in November

The closure of Guernsey's Woolworths store has been put back by three days to 30 December.

Seventy-two full and part-time workers employed at the store in Guernsey will lose their jobs unless a last-minute buyer can be found.

The first of the UK stores will shut on 27 December with the St Peter Port shop in Guernsey closing along with 200 others on 30 December.

The last of the 807 closures will take place by 5 January.

The chain was forced to call in administrators amid mounting debts and losses.

Jersey's branch of the chain is also due to close on 30 December with the loss of 88 jobs.
