Eight people have been rescued by Alderney's all-weather lifeboat after the motor cruiser they were sailing in was damaged.

The cruiser, Mr Greedy, got into difficulty after it hit rocks off Alderney on Saturday afternoon.

The Roy Barker 1 was launched at about 1620 BST.

The cruiser was towed back to Braye Harbour and the lifeboat stood down at about 1730 BST. There were no reports of any injuries.
