Traffic flow assessed at schools

Cycle path
The States has brought in a number of traffic calming measures

The traffic system around two new schools in Guernsey will be under assessment for the first few days of the school term, the States has said.

It was announced in June there would be a 20mph speed limit on roads around St Sampsons High School and Le Murier School at Les Nicolles.

Now the Environment Department has revealed a new cycle path will also be introduced.

Minister Peter Sirett said he was confident the new system would work.

Other traffic calming measures will include electronic warning signs, "caution" strips, raised junctions and wider kerbed pavements.
