Condor is sold to investment fund

Condor Ferries was founded in 1947

The company which runs Condor Ferries has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Condor - which operates routes between Guernsey, Jersey, France and the UK - was established in 1964 and provides both passenger and freight services.

The Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund II has announced that it has acquired Admiral Holdings Ltd, which owns the Condor Group.

However, the deal has yet to be approved by the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority.

Macquarie International is a wholesale investment fund that makes long-term investments in infrastructure businesses across Europe.

Its previous investments include Thames Water and public safety communications provider Airwave.
