Airline 'should stay' with States

Aurigny plane: Pic Aurigny
Almost half Aurigny passengers said it offered good or very good value

Ownership of the airline Aurigny should remain with the States of Guernsey, according to 80% of people questioned for an independent survey.

The survey, which has been commissioned by Aurigny for the past six years, was carried out by Island Analysis in May.

Passengers were asked their opinions on a range of subjects, including price, punctuality, in-flight service and check-in services.

The survey also looked at opinions on Flybe and Blue Islands.

In the overall value for money category, 40% said Aurigny offered a good or very good service, 37% said it was average and 23% were dissatisfied or did not have an opinion.

Aurigny rated the best for cost with the majority of people saying they did not know how Blue Islands fared in this category.

Passengers rated Flybe as slightly better for its online check-in service.
