Crews tackling the house fire used breathing apparatus

Guernsey Fire Service has begun an investigation into the cause of a house fire in St Peter Port.

Emergency services were called to the blaze at a residential property in Mount Durand at about 1130 BST.

The road was closed off to allow firefighters to tackle the fire. No-one was injured, but part of the house was damaged.

Duty officer Andy Mauger said crews using breathing apparatus were able to contain the fire quickly.

It is thought the fire may have started in the kitchen.
