Money raised by the karting challenge will go to Les Bourgs Hospice

Guernsey politicians are preparing to pit their driving skills against each other in a go-kart contest.

States deputies have agreed to compete in the Formula 2e2 Go-karting Challenge to raise money for Les Bourgs Hospice.

Chief Minister Lyndon Trott, Peter Gillson and Marc Laine, will be racing against Francis Quinn, Robert Sillars, Andrew Le Lievre and Barry Brehaut.

Deputy Le Lievre said it would be the first time he has driven a go-kart for about 40 years.

The race will take place later at Karting Guernsey in St Sampsons.
