Boost for ferry freight service

A Channel Island ferry company has announced it is to invest heavily in freight services between France and Jersey and Guernsey.

HD Ferries has already spent £50,000 on a towing truck, a forklift and other handling equipment at the St Malo terminal in France.

A new freight warehouse will be used to receive and store shipments into and out of Guernsey and Jersey.

HD Ferries is also considering a new service from the islands to the UK.
