Low-energy light bulbs handed out
Free light bulbs are to be given away to people in Guernsey in receipt of social security benefits.

More than 1,000 low-energy bulbs have been sponsored by Friends of the Earth Guernsey to help cut CO2 emissions.

Used in place of ordinary bulbs, users could save about £60 in electricity costs over the life of the bulbs.

Two free bulbs per household will be handed out by Social Security to those collecting their benefit at the States offices in Le Truchot.
