Gas price increase for islanders
The price of gas in the Bailiwick of Guernsey is to rise.

Both Guernsey Gas and Jersey Gas have announced significant tariff increases, which they attribute to the rise in crude oil prices.

In Guernsey, the rise in the domestic tariff is between 3% and 5% - working out on average as an extra 80p per week for heating.

Last week British Gas announced a 15% rise in the cost of gas and electricity for its customers in the UK.
