Increase in drink-drive arrests
The number of motorists arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in Guernsey and Alderney over the festive period has risen for the second year in a row.

Sixteen drivers were taken into custody last month, three more than during the same period in 2005.

Police encouraged mobile phone users to report suspected drunk drivers with text messages.

The campaign's slogan was "Don't be an idiot. Think how much that drink could cost you. Don't drink and drive".
