Increase in fixed penalty fines
Guernsey's motorists caught parking illegally will have to dig deeper into their pockets with the introduction of increased fines.

The cost of a fixed penalty ticket has doubled from 15 to 30.

Guernsey's Chief of Police said the previous fine did not properly reflect the island's cost of living.

"Inflation has gone up, administration costs have gone up and compared to other jurisdictions the charges were quite small," George Le Page said.
