Legal threat on filling tax forms
Failure to complete tax forms in Guernsey could become a criminal offence if new proposals are agreed.

Eighty three per cent of the island's revenue is currently brought in by income tax.

With corporation tax due to be scrapped next year, States officials say it is more important than ever that they collect the money the States are owed.

Administrators may get the power to look back over tax returns for the past 20 years and ask for new assessments.

The States will discuss the matter when it meets on 26 September.
