Campaign to save Christmas lights
A fund-raising campaign has been launched in Guernsey to raise £60,000 for the island's Christmas lights.

At the end of 2006 the lights had to be sent to Europe for repair, which proved to be a costly exercise.

Islanders are now being asked to pledge a donation and become a "Friend of the Lights".

Lights organiser, Martine Ellis, is urging islanders to get involved in the campaign to "secure the future of the Christmas display".

Guernsey's Christmas lights are funded entirely by donations.
