Group calls for vehicle smoke ban
Smoking in vehicles should be banned in Guernsey for the good of children's health, an island lobby group has said.

The Guernsey Adolescent Smokefree Project (GASP) wants legislation outlawing smoking in all cars carrying young passengers.

Chairman Alun Williams said sometimes legislation was the only way to solve a the problem.

A ban on smoking in public places was introduced by the States of Guernsey on 1 July 2006.

Jersey introduced an island-wide ban in January and the States of Alderney has agreed to a ban, although a date has not been set.
