E-gambling makes island over 1m
Alderney's online gambling industry made the island more than 1m last year, it has emerged.

Alderney Gambling Commission regulates the industry on behalf of the States and has awarded 35 companies a licence to operate online gambling services.

The commission has announced an operating surplus of 1,325,000 for 2006 - nearly double the previous year's results.

All the money raised will go back into the island's general revenue fund.
