Gay consent age decided 'later'
Debating whether to lower the gay age of consent in Guernsey is not expected to happen until later in the year, according to a politician.

Jersey has already made the move to lower the legal age for homosexual sex to 16.

In 1999, Guernsey lowered the age of consent from 21 to 18 and it was expected the issue would have been discussed last year.

But Home Minister Geoff Mahy told the States it was a long process.

He was responding to a question by Deputy Jean Pritchard.
