Flybe announces additional routes

It is not known if the Jersey to Manchester service will be affected

Airline Flybe has announced it is to start flying two new routes from Guernsey to the UK.

The company has just completed the acquisition of the no-frills wing of British Airways, BA Connect.

The deal will have a sizeable impact on operations out of Guernsey, with the creation of a new route to Manchester and a re-established Norwich service.

It is not yet clear if the airline's service from Manchester to Jersey will be affected.

Flybe's Chief Executive, Jim French, said BA is paying his company to take on the business.

However the sale, which sees BA taking a 15% stake in Flybe, will lead to about 900 flight cancellations this month.

Airports affected include Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Bristol.
