Safety group call to lower speeds
A pedestrian safety group is to call for lower speed limits to be introduced on Guernsey's roads.

Steps is to recommend the island consider a UK-style system, reducing existing 25 and 35mph speed limits to 20 and 30mph.

Other ideas include lowering the speed outside schools to 20mph and in the area of a hospital to 30mph.

The group said it was concerned by plans to raise limits on some roads to 40mph.

There are plans to increase the limits on roads including L'Ancresse, Bulwer Avenue and the Vazon coast road.
