Safety group presents school plan
A pedestrian safety group in Guernsey has said there is still time to improve safety for pupils at a new school.

Proposals for the area at Les Nicholles school were outlined by the Stop Traffic Endangering Pedestrian Safety (STEPS) group at a public meeting.

Its plans include a one-way system, widening footpaths and the introduction of traffic calming measures.

Education Minister Martin Ozanne said the plans would be considered, but a one-way system may not be appropriate.

Work on the new £47m secondary school, which will have 720 places, is scheduled to finish in 2008.
