Minimum wage concern for growers
A Guernsey businessman claims plans to introduce a minimum wage could finish the island's horticultural industry.

Commerce and Employment is investigating whether to bring in the law, and is set to take a report to the House in the new year.

Rodney Brouard, who owns the Stan Brouard Group, agrees in principle.

But he said the department needed to take any extras, such as accommodation and travel, into account when deciding the wage level.

Commerce and Employment has called for feedback with a public consultation before taking a report to the States next year.
