New head is appointed to school
A replacement head teacher has been appointed to a Guernsey School, six months after the former principal was dismissed by the States.

Paula Sullivan, the current head of St Mary and St Michael's School, will become the new head teacher at Le Rondin School in September.

The acting head Alan Brown will continue in the post until then.

Jane Stephens was dismissed in January after being suspended in December 2006 for contractual reasons.

Mrs Stephens said disagreements with the Education Department led to her dismissal.

The Education Department would not comment on the dismissal and the Public Accounts Committee decided not to investigate her sacking.

The school aims to cater for pupils, aged four to 11, with physical and learning disabilities and visual, hearing and language problems.
