The number of lottery tickets sold in the Channel Islands has levelled out, despite a previous fall in sales.
But Jersey's Economic Development Department said sales should not be taken for granted and it was looking at ways to promote tickets this year.
States members are being asked how much should be given to Jersey charities from the cash raised last year.
Up to 80% of the funds, about £400,000, could be allocated to the organisation which represents local causes.
Politicians will also consider putting some money into a fund which would secure charity hand-outs in the future, if the National Lottery were to run from Jersey.
