Plans to increase the number of offences which merit a fixed penalty charge in Guernsey are being welcomed by the police and legal profession.
Home Department Minister Mike Torode said the proposals were nearly finished and he hoped they would be debated in the States before the summer recess.
If agreed, there would be new fines for offences ranging from speeding to failing to clean up dog mess.
Advocates say the charges would allow serious cases more time in court.
