Historic cars are exempt in the UK

Classic car owners in Guernsey are calling for their historic vehicles to be exempt from road tax.
Members of the Guernsey Old Car Club want the island to be brought in line with UK legislation.
In the UK, any car or motorbike made before 1973 qualifies as a historic car and is therefore exempt.
The club say their vehicles should also be exempt as they are part of the island's heritage and can be considered as a moving historical display.
If the rules are changed a tax disc would still need to be displayed but only to prove the owner has insured the vehicle.
