Island shops having 'tough' time
The President of Alderney's Chamber of Commerce says local shops are finding business tough.

Tony Le Blanc said he thought online and catalogue sales were having an impact on how much of islanders' money was spent in Alderney.

He said he knew the problem of quiet times for retailers was being mirrored in Guernsey and elsewhere.

However, he added that retailers who knew their market and got their products right were doing well.

He said he also believed parking problems for shoppers were much less frequent in St Anne's than in St Peter Port.
