Hope fades for missing fisherman
The search for a Guernsey fisherman who went missing after his boat sank off the coast of Sark on Saturday morning has been called off.

Terence Gilman, 35, of L'Ancresse in the Vale, was believed to be the only crew member on board.

The submerged hull of the 26ft Pride of the West was spotted by the Channel Islands' Airsearch near Sercul rock, south of Little Sark.

The Guernsey lifeboat and local fishing vessels joined in the search.

Several pieces of wreckage were spotted, but there was no sign of Mr Gilman.

Friends say Mr Gilman was last seen on Friday near the Belair pub in Sark at about midnight when he left them to return to his boat.

Two officers from Guernsey Police have travelled to Sark to work on the investigation with the Constable.
