The working party was set up in the wake of the takeover of Morrisons supermarket by Channel Island Traders.
The representatives from the Guernsey group will be finding out how the law operates in Jersey and what lessons might be learnt from it.
Jersey introduced competition legislation at the start of May 2005.
Jersey now has a regulatory authority with a staff of eight, which costs the taxpayer about £500,000 a year.
