A Guernsey man who runs a charity to help people with disfigurements will soon be working with victims of the London bombings.
Dr James Partridge founded Changing Faces in 1992 after being disfigured himself in a car fire at the age of 18.
The charity is working with NHS teams to offer support and advice to people who are having to adjust to a new appearance after the attacks.
Dr Partridge says people usually make contact a few months after being hurt.
He said: "Mostly it will be about helping to reshape how they meet people, how they present themselves and how they think about themselves too.
"We live in such an appearance-conscious world that if your appearance changes radically your self-esteem, your whole worth feels damaged and, of course, we're there to prove it doesn't need to be like that."
