Tests 'would cut car pollution'
A leading States official says introducing MoTs in Guernsey would help cut air pollution.

In the UK, cars which fail this part of the MoT can be taken off the roads.

John Cook, Director of Environmental Health and Pollution Regulation Designate, says figures show pollution in Fountain Street has risen.

He believes there could be benefits of MoTs locally, both for the environment and for public health, a move backed by the island's Motor Traders Association.
