Tourism industry hoping for boost
Guernsey
Visiting delegation aims to boost tourism industry
A prominent Guernsey resident is hoping the island's tourism industry will be given a boost by the National Trust in the UK.

To this end, a 20-strong delegation is visiting the island as part of the initiative.

The aim of the group's visit is to encourage others to come and enjoy its beauty and history.

The visit is the brainchild of Peter de Saumarez, the owner of a leading cultural attraction on the island.

Niche market tourism

He has always believed that there is scope for Guernsey to link up with heritage and gardening groups and attract specialised tour operators.

For him niche market tourism is the way forward and he is delighted to welcome the visitors.

He will continue working with the Tourist Board to make the most of links with UK groups whose members will appreciate the wealth of heritage and natural beauty Guernsey has to offer.
