Dealership jobs still uncertain
The fate of the Five Oaks garage group in Guernsey is still uncertain.

A chain of four car dealerships owned by the group has been closed to customers since the weekend and cars have been removed from the forecourts.

The dealerships affected are at St Martins, St Andrews, Ruette Braye and Landes du Marche. More than 100 people work at the four sites.

Sources at the garages have told BBC Guernsey that no jobs have officially been lost in the island but that they are waiting to learn where their future lies.

There has been no statement from the head office of Five Oaks in Jersey and the long-term fate of the businesses remains unclear.

Talks took place on Tuesday aimed at ensuring repair work on customers' cars is carried out elsewhere.
