Belgrade football supporters clash
The political tensions in Yugoslavia have forced the abandonment of a football match in Belgrade when fighting broke out among rival sections of the crowd. The match was between Partizan -- which has been identified with allies of former President Milosevic -- and Red Star Belgrade, some of whose supporters had been seen demonstrating in support of the new Yugoslav leadership. Only minutes after the match began, flares were fired from the stands and spectators broke out, hurling seats across the ground. Around forty people were injured.
