The Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has paid tribute to Poland's President Lech Kaczynski, who was killed after his plane crashed in foggy weather in Russia.

Polish and Russian officials said no-one survived after the plane apparently hit trees as it approached Smolensk airport.

Poland's army chief, central bank governor, MPs and leading historians were among more than 80 passengers.

Mr Saakashvili said Mr Kaczynski had bought a great deal to Polish politics.
