Nicolas Sarkozy facing strikes over pension reforms

After big losses in regional elections, the government of French President Nicola Sarkozy must now contend with a strike by transport workers.

Transport workers are taking action over planned reforms to the pension system and the fact his key election promise to make ordinary people richer has never materialised.

Mr Sarkozy has suggested he'll slow down his programme of reforms next year but an increasing number over voters are becoming disillusioned with his leadership.

Emma Jane Kirby reports from Paris.
