UKIP MEP insults EU president

The European Union President, Herman van Rumpoy, has been called a "damp rag" with the "appearance of a low-grade bank clerk" by a British MEP.

Nigel Farage, of the UK Independence Party, said he did not "want to be rude" before launching his attack - but he later added that he thought Mr van Rumpoy was "competent and capable and dangerous".
