Italians battle with oranges on Valentines day


On Valentines Day, many people chose to express themselves with flowers or perhaps chocolates, but in one small town in Italy, people instead took to the streets to throw oranges.

The re-enactment of the Battle of the Oranges in the northern city of Ivrea, represents romance of a sort, but also harks back to a dark medieval legend.
