Burqas in public could be banned in France

Women in France could soon be banned from wearing a muslim veil that covers their face in public places.

The BBC understands that a parliamentary commission, which has been taking evidence for six months, will decide that wearing the burqa or niqab should be restricted.

Gavin Hewitt reports.
