Close-Up: Berlin's obsession with currywurst

In an ongoing series, BBC News focuses on aspects of life in countries and cities around the world. What may seem ordinary and familiar to the people who live there, can be surprising to those who do not.

A currywurst is a hot pork sausage cut into slices, covered in curry sauce and curry powder. And it is a national obsession, eaten as a take-away or street food all over Germany - and particularly in Berlin, where it was believed to have been invented.

From there, the BBC's Damien McGuinness investigates the strange history of currywurst - helped by Meike-Marie Thiele, curator of Berlin's Currywurst Museum.
