Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic is expected to appear at his trial for war crimes in The Hague for the first time.

His boycott of proceedings is expected to end only so he can ask for more time to prepare his defence.

Mr Karadzic denies the charges of war crimes and genocide levelled against him.

Helen Fawkes reports.
