EU clears hurdle to Lisbon treaty

EU leaders meeting in Brussels have agreed a deal designed to win Czech backing of the Lisbon Treaty, clearing a major hurdle to its ratification.

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said the eight long years of negotiating the treaty reminded him of a "marathon with hurdles". Laura Kuenssberg reports.
