Leipzig marks protests anniversary


The 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall is in November, but for many the process began a month earlier with a series of anti-Communist demonstrations in Leipzig.

On the night of the 9th October 1989 thousands of people in the east German city defied the authorities and took to the streets.

Brian Hanrahan reports.
